Due to her imprisonment in Dubai and her complete absence from social media, the name of the Kuwaiti fashionista Rawan Bin Hussain has resurfaced prominently online. Recently, rumors circulated claiming her sentence had been extended; however, no official confirmation or statement from authorities has verified this claim.

Speculation suggests that she was sentenced to an additional year in jail after assaulting a female security officer at a Dubai detention center, according to circulating Snapchat reports. Still, no official source has confirmed this story.

In addition to being deported from the UAE, Rawan was serving a six-month sentence and paid a fine of 20,000 Emirati dirhams, roughly equivalent to $5,445 USD.

This situation stems from findings by the Dubai Public Prosecution, confirming that Rawan was detained in public while intoxicated, caused a disturbance, and engaged in verbal and physical altercations with Dubai police officers on duty.

The Dubai Public Prosecution directed her to appear before the judiciary, leading to a criminal case being filed with the Criminal Court. Rawan attempted to persuade the court to dismiss the charges, but ultimately, the verdict was handed down, sparking a wave of reactions on social media.
