Digital Phablet – Meghan Markle Makes a Surprising Return to Acting with a Brief Appearance
In the upcoming film Close Personal Friends, Meghan Markle is making her return to the big screen, albeit in a small cameo role. Shooting is underway in and around Los Angeles, featuring stars like Lily Collins, Jack Quaid, Brie Larson, and Henry Golding.
Melissa Villaseñor, known for her time on Saturday Night Live, joins the cast, along with Natasia Demetriou, Anna Konkle, Patti Harrison, Jack Shalloo, and Dustin Demri-Burns.
Rumors suggest the storyline centers on an ordinary couple who crosses paths with a famous pair in Santa Barbara. As their friendship develops, complications quickly ensue.
The screenplay was penned by Isaac Aptaker, who is directing, based on a story they co-developed. Both Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger are credited as writers. The three actors previously collaborated on the Amazon MGM romantic comedy I Want You Back.
Before her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018, Markle starred for seven seasons on Suits and appeared in films like Horrible Bosses and Remember Me. Recently, she and Prince Harry’s production company, Archewell Productions, renewed its first-look deal with Netflix. Despite her acting hiatus of over seven years, Markle continues her role as an executive producer for documentaries such as Polo and Live to Lead. She also hosted her own lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, now in its second season.
Markle shared with Page Six, “It’s a new chapter, right? I left my role on Suits to focus on my duties as Duchess of Sussex. I’m proud of what I accomplished there. Now, it’s time to work alongside Harry.”
In 2020, the couple announced they would pause their royal responsibilities and split time between the UK and Santa Barbara.

Stay tuned as Meghan Markle steps back onto set, captivating audiences with her unexpected appearance in this much-anticipated comedy.
