ALBAWABA – Actress Mai Ezz Eldin shared photos from her wedding ceremony and announced her marriage to fitness trainer Ahmed Taymour on Tuesday evening.
She posted the photos on her Facebook account, commenting, “Thank God, by His grace, all good things are achieved. I pray for His blessings and ask for your heartfelt and sincere prayers for our happiness.”
This announcement follows nine years after she publicly opposed civil marriage and marriages outside of her religion.
During a segment on the show “100 Questions,” Mai Ezz Eldin was asked about her views on civil marriage or marrying someone of a different faith, similar to her Christian mother’s marriage to her Muslim father.
She responded, “No, my faith does not permit that. I am a very traditional person, and my vision for myself is to marry someone from my own religion who shares my values, not just in faith but in every aspect.”
She further added, “Before love, admiration is the initial phase. When I notice certain qualities and feelings towards someone, based on my perceptions, I can tell early on if they’re the right fit for me, even before the stage of love.”
Mai Ezz Eldin also discussed her preferences for a life partner on another show, “My Guest,” with journalist Moataz El-Demerdash. She said, “Everyone creates a list of qualities and ideals in their mind, but ultimately, fate is what decides.”
She continued, “When love strikes unexpectedly, you often realize that the person doesn’t possess many qualities you previously valued. You ask yourself, ‘Why did I spend years crafting a list?’ The truth is, there’s no such perfect match. Love is spontaneous and beyond calculation, and marriage is not something that can be measured or planned — it’s up to God’s destiny. If you obsess over a list, fate may bring someone who doesn’t match those criteria, and love will find a way regardless.”
During her appearances on the shows, Mai Ezz Eldin shared insights about her perspective on love and marriage, emphasizing the unpredictability of destiny and the importance of trusting divine timing.
