Digital Phablet – Can Evrenol directs Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ in a spy-themed Turkish series for Disney.
Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ is preparing for a major new project. The Turkish actor will star in the upcoming Disney Plus series “Dönence,” produced by Bozdağ Film. The platform has heavily invested in Turkish original content, and this series is among the most highly anticipated.
In “Dönence,” Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ portrays Ali, a former police officer who gets dismissed from his job. Subsequently, Ali is recruited by a covert intelligence agency. His new role drags him into a perilous world of espionage, clandestine missions, and unpredictable alliances. Designed to attract a global audience beyond Turkey, the series combines action with psychological tension.
The storyline was penned by Mehmet Bozdağ and Kerem Kurt. Industry insiders mention that Can Evrenol will serve as the director. Known for his distinctive storytelling style and genre-focused approach, Evrenol’s involvement in a spy-centric project is noteworthy. Both Tatlıtuğ and Evrenol have already sparked buzz within the entertainment community with their collaboration.
Casting discussions are ongoing, with speculation that actress Pınar Deniz may be cast as the key spy operative Yasemin. Should the pairing succeed, it would unite two popular actors from recent hit series.
The production is slated to commence filming in Istanbul this March. The series will consist of eight episodes and is expected to feature a dramatic tone, high production values, and fast-paced action sequences. Bozdağ Film is also gearing up for an international marketing campaign once filming begins.
Fans are excited to see Tatlıtuğ return to digital media. He remains one of Turkey’s top male actors, thanks to his success in the recent hit soap “Aile.” Transitioning into a new genre with “Dönence” could expand his reach worldwide. Over the coming months, Disney Plus is likely to release additional details, including the cast list and launch schedule.
