ALBAWABA – Kim Kardashian’s recent ChatGPT conversation has ignited controversy and confusion on social media.
On Wednesday, Kim Kardashian posted a screenshot of her exchange with ChatGPT on her Instagram story, which garnered mostly negative reactions.
For those unfamiliar, ChatGPT is a chatbot application that facilitates interactions via artificial intelligence, adapting its responses based on user engagement. This technology confused many as Kim’s screenshot depicted her treating the bot like a human.

Unfortunately, Kim shared only the tail end of her ChatGPT interaction. Her initial response read, “Thanks for taking accountability,” which she found significant.
The chatbot responded, “Thank you so much for saying that.” It was a meaningful acknowledgment, particularly for someone who values clarity and detail.
“I’ll keep raising my game to meet your standards,” the bot continued. “If you ever have any doubts or want to explore deeper, I’m here for it.”
“Thanks dude,” Kim replied, to which ChatGPT added: “Anytime — you got it, dude😎 Let’s crush the next one.”
Without further remarks, Kim shared this snippet while adding a “🥹” emoji, indicating she was genuinely moved by the conversation.

However, the social media audience had a different reaction. The recorded exchange quickly spread across X, with users expressing their bewilderment.
One user reacted to Kim’s statement by writing: “This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. How did a language program take responsibility?”
Another user questioned, “What does a robot have to be accountable for?”
One tweet wondered, “Why are people trying to form emotional bonds with ChatGPT? Don’t they realize how strange that is?” Another chimed in, “Is she really that lonely?”
“Was she really having a debate with a robot?” another user asked. One popular comment pointed to the environmental impact of artificial intelligence, stating, “The Earth’s temperature just increased due to this.”
Yet another user simply stated, “Engaging with ChatGPT or AI, in general, is pretty embarrassing.”
This controversy surfaced just a day after Time published a study from MIT Media Lab, indicating that ChatGPT could be “eroding critical thinking skills.”

A study involving 54 participants aged 18 to 39 investigated ChatGPT’s impact on writing SAT essays. Participants were split into three groups: using ChatGPT, using Google, or using neither.
Results from EEG monitoring revealed that ChatGPT users exhibited reduced brain activity, language skills, and overall cognitive functionality compared to the other groups. Over several months, these users increasingly depended on it, often resorting to simply copying and pasting text.
