Digital Phablet – Kim Kardashian Fails California Bar Exam, Vows to Keep Going
While viewers enjoy Kim Kardashian portraying a lawyer on All’s Fair, the star-turned-actress shared some personal setbacks. On November 8, Kim announced via Instagram Stories that she did not pass the California bar exam.
“Well… As of now, I am not a lawyer; on TV, I just play one who always looks stylish,” she joked. “I’ve been working towards this for six years, and I’m not giving up until I officially pass the bar. No shortcuts, no quitting—just more studying and increased determination.”
She also expressed gratitude, saying, “Thanks to everyone who’s supported and encouraged me so far. Failing to meet your goals isn’t the end—it fuels your drive. I came so close this time, and that only motivates me to try harder. Let’s do this!”
Kim further shared a photo on Instagram, including her message of perseverance and gratitude. She added, “Thank you to everyone who has helped and cheered me on. Missing the mark isn’t failing—it’s just another step. I was so close, and that makes me even more eager to succeed. Let’s go!”
Sources indicate that Kim took the California bar exam on July 29 and 30. The exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions, five essay questions spanning an hour each, and a 90-minute performance test. Every year, approximately 16,000 candidates sit for this test; historically, around 63.6% pass in February.
Kim Kardashian started her legal journey in 2018, following the footsteps of her late father, renowned lawyer Robert Kardashian. She revealed in Vogue the following year that she was undertaking an apprenticeship to become a lawyer. In 2021, she proudly announced on X (formerly Twitter) that she had passed the “baby bar exam,” the First-Year Law Students’ Examination in California, on her fourth attempt. She shared her feelings of pride, saying, “Looking in the mirror, I’m genuinely proud of the woman I see today. My path into law school wasn’t easy or straightforward, but I made it through.”
In a Vanity Fair interview, Kim disclosed to her co-star Teyana Taylor that she commonly uses ChatGPT for legal assistance—a practice that highlights her ongoing challenges in her legal pursuit. Despite setbacks, her determination remains unwavering, and she continues to push forward in her aspirational legal career.
