Digital Phablet – A Bloomberg report states that the controversial American rapper Kanye West earned an impressive $33 million from his comeback performances in Los Angeles.
Now known as Ye, he addressed his fans during his concert at Sofi Stadium, saying, “That’s what 80,000 people sound like, ladies and gentlemen… they said I’d never return to the States. Two sold-out shows.”
This marks Kanye West’s significant return to the stage with his studio album “Bully” following recent controversies involving anti-Semitic statements and Nazi-related remarks shared on social media. Moreover, West caused further controversy by releasing a track titled “Heil Hitler” during his extended social media tirade.
Kanye West just earned $33 million from two comeback performances
According to a tweet by Kurrco, quoting Bloomberg, West’s two sold-out shows at SoFi Stadium generated a total of $33 million. The Friday night concert alone brought in over $18 million in ticket sales, making it one of the highest-grossing single concert events in the history of live music.
TMZ also reported that Ye made around $18 million from ticket sales for the first concert, highlighting its status as one of the most profitable solo shows ever.
However, this achievement might be viewed as a “stunt or an anomaly” due to West’s online controversies, which include accusations of anti-Semitism and posting explicit photos of his ex-wife, Australian architect Bianca Censori, on X (formerly Twitter).
Recently, there were reports that West would be performing at the UK’s Wireless Festival. This led to Pepsi withdrawing its sponsorship of the event.
The criticism gained momentum after UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that “Anti-Semitism in any form is appalling and must be addressed firmly whenever it appears.”
A Pepsi spokesperson confirmed, stating, “Pepsi has decided to withdraw its sponsorship of Wireless Festival.”
