Digital Phablet – Since the overthrow of Bashar Assad’s regime last December, disturbing tales have surfaced from the renowned Syrian Sednaya Prison, often referred to as the “human slaughterhouse.”
Syrian author Samer Radwan announced on his Facebook page that production has started on the series “Al Khoroj Men Al-Bear” [Coming Out to the Well]. He mentioned that he is responsible for the story, screenplay, and dialogue, while Mohamed Lotfi is directing the project.
Filming will take place between Beirut and Damascus and will portray a historical period spent by detainees inside Sednaya Prison in Damascus.
Reports suggest that director Mohamed Lotfi chose several authentic filming locations and collected firsthand accounts from owners detailing their torture experiences before the collapse of the previous regime in December 2014.
Actor Jamal Suleiman spent multiple days in Beirut during the start of filming, fully immersing himself in the project, which is anticipated to attract a large viewership. (Nawa3em)
