A surge of controversy and debate has been ignited by the teaser trailer for the upcoming series Wa Nensa Ele Kan, starring Yasmin Abdelaziz, scheduled to premiere in Ramadan 2026. The clip portrays intense psychological struggles and crises behind the veneer of fame, prompting viewers to wonder if the storyline is linked to the personal life of Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel Wahab, who is currently experiencing a challenging period.
In his initial response, actor Wael Abd Elaziz, Yasmin’s brother, who is making his acting debut alongside her, mentioned that the trailer has sparked plenty of buzz and questions since its release — a positive indicator. Nevertheless, he clarified that any connection between the series narrative and the life of a particular individual is a discussion to be held between the star and the production team.
In an exclusive interview with 24, Abd Elaziz stressed that the production team has issued clear instructions to the cast not to disclose any details about their roles at this stage. This approach is part of their strategy to build anticipation and surprise fans with a distinctive and highly-awaited series. He also added that more information about the series will be shared soon.
Furthermore, screenwriter Amr Mahmoud Yassin, the creative mind behind the Ramadan 2026 series Wa Nensa Ele Kan, stated in a media interview that the work is not aimed at any specific public figure, nor does it portray the biography of a particular artist, countering claims that it is based on Sherine Abdel Wahab’s life.
Everything you need to know about Ramadan’s Wa Nensa Ele Kan series:
The storyline centers around star Jalila, who finds herself embroiled in a series of mysterious threats that turn her life into a relentless pursuit. Her journey intersects with a man named Badr, a retired professional fighter who winds up in an entirely different kind of confrontation—as her bodyguard. As threats intensify, the boundary between duty and emotion becomes blurred, transforming Badr from a mere protector into a partner in a love story that defies the rules of martial arts; here, safeguarding love proves far more challenging than defending life itself.
The series will be available on the Shahid platform and MBC Masr.
