Asena Keskinci stars as the lead in the new series, which premiered on December 12 alongside Burak Can Aras. The show, produced by TN Yapım and Ayem Media, is created by Tanay Abbasoğlu and Atay Yıldız. Known for its provocative themes and emotionally intense narrative, Jasmine has quickly captured public attention.
The storyline centers around Yasemin, a young woman fighting a severe heart illness, with her obsessive stepbrother Tufan serving as her only source of support. Her desperate attempt to land a heart transplant pushes her into dangerous networks and morally complex dilemmas. Yasemin’s emotional state becomes increasingly unstable as love, attachment, and obsession intertwine. Burak Can Aras portrays Tufan, who is constantly present for Yasemin. His character grapples with concealed feelings and a disturbing psychological bond that deepens with each episode.

The Radio and Television Supreme Council of Turkey (RTÜK) announced that it has initiated an investigation following numerous public complaints shortly after the show’s debut. RTÜK publicly stated that the series allegedly undermines family values, conflicts with moral and national principles, exploits women, and influences viewers negatively. The council emphasized its responsibility to uphold societal standards, especially considering the impact of online platforms on youth.
RTÜK also noted that its monitoring experts are thoroughly reviewing the content, and any violations found will be addressed according to the prevailing laws.
Despite its controversy, Jasmine has attracted significant attention. Much of the critique lauds Asena Keskinci’s performance, with many considering her one of the most talented new actresses of her generation. Her portrayal of Yasemin vividly conveys fear and inner turmoil, rendering the character both compelling and unsettling.
