Digital Phablet – The second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has released a brand-new final trailer just ahead of its upcoming debut this Friday.
The trailer, showcasing striking animation quality and visuals by Studio Madhouse, also unveiled the opening theme song for the second season. The featured track in the trailer is “lulu.” performed by the renowned Japanese rock band Mrs. GREEN APPLE.
Mrs. GREEN APPLE is widely recognized for their hit “Inferno,” which served as the opening theme for the first season of the popular shonen anime, Fire Force. The second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will continue from where the first season concluded and will adapt storylines from the manga, authored by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe.
While the initial season consisted of 28 episodes spread over two cours, Season 2 will have a shorter run of only 10 episodes. Like before, the series will be animated by Studio Madhouse and produced by Toho Animation.
Additionally, Reiko Nagasawa will no longer be responsible for character designs. Instead, a team of three artists, including Akiko Takase—known for her character designs in Kyoto Animation’s Violet Evergarden—will take charge of the visuals.
According to Ani Trendz, Season 2 of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is set to premiere on several platforms, including Crunchyroll, the Chinese service Bilibili, iQIYI, and Muse Asia’s YouTube channel.
