Digital Phablet – Five celebrities, including Hande Erçel, test positive in recent investigations.
An expanding investigation into the use of illegal substances among celebrities in Turkey has uncovered that actress Hande Erçel tested positive for opioid derivatives. Forensic reports also suggest involvement of several other well-known figures detained during the latest crackdown, which has significantly impacted Istanbul’s entertainment scene since late last year, according to the American Press Association (APA), which references Türkiye Today.
Tests on Hande Erçel’s urine revealed the presence of morphine, codeine, and a related compound known as codeine glucuronide. However, her blood and hair samples returned negative results.

She now joins a growing list of public figures whose biological samples have produced at least partial findings during one of Turkey’s most extensive drug investigations to date. Her test results placed her among some of the individuals on this expanding roster.
Additional suspects were found with traces of cocaine and cannabis.
Four other individuals underwent similar forensic assessments, which yielded compelling results. A hair sample from singer Mustafa Ceceli tested positive for cocaine and its metabolites, benzoylecgonine and methylcgonine, whereas his blood tests were negative.
Hair analysis is a critical tool in forensic toxicology, capable of identifying drug use over the previous ninety days per centimeter of hair length. This makes it more comprehensive than urine or blood testing. However, a positive toxicology result does not automatically lead to criminal charges under Turkish law.
