Digital Phablet – Cardi B exclusively revealed on “CBS Mornings” this Wednesday that she is expecting her fourth child.
The Grammy-winning artist confirmed she is pregnant with her first child with her boyfriend, New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, ending weeks of speculation about her personal life. Her first stadium tour, titled “Little Miss Drama,” is scheduled to kick off in February, and she mentioned that the baby is expected to arrive before then.
At 32 years old, Cardi B shared that she feels “excited” and “joyful” as she prepares to release new music and focus on her young children.
“I’m feeling in a really good place. I’m very strong. I feel empowered because I’m juggling so much. While preparing for the new baby, I’m also working on a lot of projects, and my partner and I are very supportive of each other,” she expressed.
She also mentioned how both she and Diggs aspire to be “the greatest” in their respective fields. She added that Diggs has helped her feel more secure while she’s working on her upcoming album, titled “Am I The Drama?”, which features a song called “Safe.”
“He’s just made me feel so safe, confident, and strong,” Cardi B stated. “There was a time just two weeks ago when I had a panic attack and kept crying because I was overwhelmed about the album launch. People can love you or hate you, and sometimes they say really harsh things about me.”
The artist admitted that receiving critical feedback sometimes makes her doubt whether to release new music.
She shared an exclusive tweet with CBS Morning’s Gayle King, confirming her pregnancy and that she plans to give birth before her tour begins next February. She expressed, “I feel very strong. I feel very powerful, doing all this work, despite everything.”
Reflecting on her creative process, she said, “Sometimes, I hesitate to put out my music because it’s my art, and I pour so much love and effort into it. When people tear it down, it hurts, and it’s tough to handle.”
Cardi B, born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, said that Diggs’ support continues to motivate her deeply.
“He makes me feel very self-assured… When I do that, I feel like I could take over the world,” she noted. She also revealed that she didn’t tell anyone about her pregnancy until she secured some deals, and she joked about not sharing with her parents yet because she’s “afraid of them.”
The rapper and Offset, her former partner, share three children. She mentioned that she’s hesitant to fall in love again after their highly publicized breakup but shared that Diggs once told her, “Let me heal you,” and asked for a chance to do so.
Now confirming her pregnancy, Cardi B humorously urged fans to support her new album so she can afford essentials for her upcoming baby, saying, “Now you can buy my album so I can buy Pampers, diapers, and all that stuff. I told you — buy my album, because I have four kids now.”
Meanwhile, Cate Blanchett announced that her second album is “complete,” saying it encompasses everything she wants to express and is something unique in the market. Her upcoming album, titled “Am I The Drama?”, is set to be released on September 19. Fans can catch more of her interview with CBS Mornings on Thursday, September 18, at 7 a.m. ET, where she discusses her recent legal issues and street promotion efforts for her album.
