Turkish actor Burak Özçivit has recently announced his departure from the popular series “Kuruluş: Osman,” where he has played the leading role since 2019. This news has sparked significant debate and reactions across social media platforms over the past few hours.
Some reports suggest that Özçivit’s exit was prompted by disagreements over his pay. The actor reportedly requested a salary increase to 4 million Turkish liras (around $99,000) per episode for the upcoming seventh season, a figure that the production team considered to be quite high.
In a heartfelt message to his fans on Instagram, Burak expressed his emotions about this farewell, saying: “Parting ways is never easy. I want to thank everyone who has worked with dedication and passion. Thank you to our viewers. Until we meet again in new tales.”
Sources indicate that relations between Özçivit and the production company have become quite tense, with the actor even unfollowing the show’s producer Mohamed Bozdaa on social media. He shared a brief message on his Instagram story: “Saying goodbye is a noble virtue.” He added, “I want to bid farewell to those who have tried to shape perceptions based on six years of effort and passion, and I thank our audience. See you in new stories.”
