Barış Arduç has recently generated buzz across the Middle East after an interview with Blinks, where he shared insights into his creative influences, his admiration for Arabic music, and hints about a potential cinematic project with Tunisian actor Dhafer L’Abidine.
The actor from Turkey began by replying to a fan comment noting that his appearance in his latest film, Dehşet Bey, resembles Taim Hassan’s style in an recent Syrian production. Arduç smiled and acknowledged the similarity, particularly highlighting features such as the mustache and wardrobe.
The conversation quickly shifted to language. Arduç expressed his fascination with Arabic, noting that the word “yani” is commonly used in both Arabic and Turkish and is among the first shared words he learned.
When discussing music, his enthusiasm became evident. He highlighted Sherine Abdel Wahab’s voice as “soothing, beautiful, and rich with emotion.” During the interview, he even pulled out his phone and mentioned that Sherine’s songs frequently appear on his playlist and Instagram feed, praising the gentle rhythm and richness of her vocals. Arduç also spoke about his connections in the Arab entertainment industry, mentioning Razane Jammal, with whom he did a magazine photoshoot, and Dhafer L’Abidine, a close friend. He shared that Dhafer would soon participate in a photoshoot in Cappadocia, Turkey, and that they are collaborating on a film idea. Expressing excitement, he said, “We don’t have a set date yet, but we’re very eager,” suggesting a collaboration that’s already drawing attention among fans across diverse regions.
The actor conveyed positivity about the Middle East, expressing his desire to visit Jordan for the first time, despite having traveled to the UAE and Saudi Arabia previously. When asked about Arabic cuisine, he mentioned he had never tried camel meat but would love to sample it someday.
