Digital Phablet – Actor Sunay Kurtuluş questioned after Ayşegül Eraslan found dead.
The investigation into the death of fashion designer and social media personality Ayşegül Eraslan, who was discovered deceased at her residence in Kağıthane, is intensifying. Actor Sunay Kurtuluş, who arrived at her home approximately an hour before the incident, provided a statement as a “witness,” while notes left by Eraslan shed light on the depth of the tragedy.
Tensions surfaced over a “joking slap” exchanged in the final hours before the incident.
Footage from security cameras reviewed by the Kağıthane Public Security Bureau showed that Sunay Kurtuluş (28) entered the residence roughly an hour prior to the event. Kurtuluş, whose statement has been recorded, recalled that they had met three weeks earlier and described that night as follows:
“She wanted to meet after returning from Egypt, so I went to her house. While we were drinking tea and joking around, she slapped me. I told her I didn’t like physical jokes, and I reacted to it. When she went to her room, I got ready; she handed me a hat as a gift, and I left. Later, we exchanged messages, and she blocked me.”
A heartbreaking farewell note read: “I’ve never received parental love.”
Police investigators discovered notes on a whiteboard and a letter during their search of the house. Eraslan’s notes contained striking statements about her childhood and family:
“I experienced a lot of violence; life is truly terrible.”
“I apologize to my father; I am as lonely as my mother. I received neither motherly nor fatherly love.”
“Please take good care of my dogs; I can’t get over certain things.”
From Egyptian Vacation to Tragic End
According to security footage, the 27-year-old designer entered the building with her suitcase on March 11th after returning from a trip to Egypt. Her friend Hasan Tufan S. stated that Eraslan had attempted suicide twice before, but these incidents were not reported to authorities.
Cause of Death Clarified
Investigations concluded that Ayşegül Eraslan had cut her left wrist while writing her farewell note, with blood traces found on the paper. The cut was not deep enough to cause vital damage. It is believed that after writing the note, she took her own life by hanging herself with a belt on the stairs of her duplex residence.
