Digital Phablet – Controversial streamer Asmongold was suspended from Twitch for an entire week after allegedly violating the platform’s community guidelines on April 6. He was banned on his secondary Twitch account, Zackrawrr, though previous content from that account remains accessible to viewers.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Asmongold shared his frustration:
“I was banned for a week because I said I don’t care about the opinions of illiterate third-worlders. Would anyone be banned for saying they don’t care about what an American thinks about the Middle East? Of course not. Clear double standard, I didn’t violate the Terms of Service.”
Asmongold’s Twitch Ban Over Comments on Iran Conflict
Several online users criticized Asmongold for his recent political remarks regarding the ongoing US-Israeli conflict with Iran, and for his post belittling people from the “third world.”
One comment read, “Your apartment is worse than a third-world country, so self-deprecating humor shouldn’t be punished.”
Another individual stated, “There’s no double standard here. You should have been suspended or permanently banned for your disgusting comments. You’re a disgrace to Americans and seem to follow the brainwashed cult supporting the antics of the person in the Oval Office.”
Meanwhile, fellow streamer and anime reaction content creator Nicholas Light defended Asmongold, claiming that Twitch’s policies show “double standards” by not taking similar action against another political streamer, HasanAbi.
Nicholas commented, “It’s acceptable for Hasan to promote terrorism, threaten a senator, make repeated anti-Semitic remarks, or even abuse his dog live on stream, yet when you tell the truth, you get banned for a week. This company is so clueless. The CEO needs to be ousted because you face bigger consequences than terrorists like Hasan.”
This isn’t the first time Asmongold has faced suspension due to his political views. In 2024, he was banned after making derogatory and allegedly racist comments about Palestinians, whom he dismissed as “inferior.” His remarks came a year after violence erupted in Gaza in October 2023, which led to the deaths of over 72,000 Palestinians and injured approximately 172,000, including many women and children.
Following the backlash, Asmongold issued an apology for his comments on social media.
