Anahid Fayyad is deeply mourning the sudden passing of her teenage son.
Jordanian-Syrian actress Anahid Fayyad, along with her husband, former Jordanian Minister Muthanna Gharaibeh, is engulfed in grief following the unexpected death of their only son, Karam, who was just 14 years old.
The news of the tragedy has touched many, with numerous individuals expressing their sympathies and offering prayers on social media. A condolence statement circulating within Jordanian media states that details about the cause of death have not been disclosed, and the family has yet to make an official statement.
The funeral prayer was held at the Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque on Saturday after Asr prayer, and he was laid to rest in Hawara Cemetery in Irbid Governorate, located in northern Jordan.
A large gathering of family and friends attended, sharing an atmosphere thick with sorrow and mourning. Those wishing to extend condolences can do so at the Al-Gharaybeh Diwan for men, and at the residence of Abu Muthanna Hamdan near the traffic light for women. Condolences are accepted for two days, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM before Iftar, the meal that breaks the fast, and continue until 10 PM after Iftar. On the third day, expressions of grief will be observed at Al-Halsa Diwan in Amman.
Anahid Fayyad has gained recognition as a prominent actress in Syrian theater. Born in Damascus in 1983, she is of Palestinian descent and holds Jordanian citizenship. Her acting career launched with the series “Escape to the Summit,” working alongside the late Syrian director Muhammad Fardous Atassi after graduating from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus in 2004. She gained widespread attention for her role as Dalal in the hit TV series “Bab Al-Hara,” and has since appeared in numerous acclaimed films and television productions, including “The Palestinian Exodus,” “Soft Thorns,” and “Tears of Blood.”
It is reported that in 2007, Anahid Fayyad married Muthanna Gharaibeh, a former minister. The couple had one child, Karam, who remained out of the public eye and was well cared for by his family.
