Google is experimenting with adding a reviews button and, at times, an overview button to the call and message options on Local Service Ads. The reviews button directs users to customer feedback, while the overview button links to the business’s local listing.
Anthony Higman shared details about this update on Digital Phablet, noting that clicking any of these new buttons opens the business profile, where a messaging option appears prominently with a blue button indicating expected response times. This shift emphasizes messaging interactions, potentially at the expense of other engagement methods.
Higman also pointed out that, despite announcements of transitioning from the old green verification checkmark to a new blue verification badge scheduled for October 20th, many profiles still display the traditional green checkmark.
Screenshots shared by Higman showcase these new review and overview buttons, illustrating how they integrate into the existing profile interface. The focus on messaging and profile presentation suggests a strategic move by Google to enhance direct communication between consumers and businesses on local ads.
