Google Ads is currently testing a new share icon and button for hotel ads displayed within Google search results. When users click on the share icon, they have the option to share the hotel ad with a friend. However, it’s unclear whether sharing the URL will incur any costs for the advertiser.
This feature was observed by Lluc B. Penycate, who shared several screenshots on X, noting, “Google testing adding share icon to Google Ads carousel for hotels.” The hotel ads appear in a carousel format on search results pages, and the share icon is visible among the options.
Clicking the share icon reveals a sharing interface, as shown in the shared screenshots. While this sharing functionality has been seen repeatedly in the broader Google Search results, it seems to be a new addition for Google Ads, especially within hotel ad carousels.
