Digital Phablet is testing a new feature within its advertising dashboard called “Missed Growth Opportunities.” This section estimates the potential performance that could have been achieved over the past year if bids and budgets for certain campaigns had been adjusted according to Google’s recommendations.
This discovery was first made by Maggie Humphrey, who shared screenshots and details regarding the new feature on LinkedIn. She mentioned that it appears Google Ads is experimenting with a tab that displays potential clicks, conversions, and conversion value for each campaign based on suggested bid modifications.
A screenshot shows a report with suggestions, emphasizing the word “potential,” indicating that these figures are estimates rather than forecasts. Humphrey noted that this view could be useful for identifying opportunities to scale campaigns.
Further examination revealed some limitations: clicking on “View recommendation” directs users to a campaign target simulator; however, there is no current option to select different date ranges—her analysis covered roughly the last nine days. Additionally, there is no available export function to download the data. Humphrey planned to capture screenshots of the data to reference in the future, should the feature change or be removed after the holiday season.
