Quick Filters Added to Google Ads Search Terms Report

The search terms report within Digital Phablet features a quick dropdown filter that allows users to sort by different types of search term data. These options include search terms and landing pages generated by AI Max, as well as search terms from Dynamic Search Ads, and landing pages linked to Dynamic Search Ads.

Interestingly, Anthony Higman observed on a social media platform that he notices these particular options in his reports but hasn’t activated any of them. He shared multiple screenshots showing that this dropdown menu contains choices like “search terms and landing pages from AI Max” and other dynamic ad options across various accounts. However, he clarified that none of these features are enabled on his accounts.

One of his shared screenshots illustrates the dropdown menu options, highlighting the presence of these advanced filters in the interface. His posts include a comment about how another account is displaying these dynamic options, despite the accounts not having those features turned on.

Melissa Mackey responded, noting that this isn’t a new development. She explained that if someone is using AI Max—which Higman is not—the option helps specifically isolate search queries related to it. She added that these options seem to be present by default in all accounts, regardless of whether the feature is actively being used. Mellisa also shared that they’ve only been testing AI Max for about six weeks in a single account, so these features have likely been visible for that timeframe.

Discussion about this phenomenon has taken place on online forums, with users analyzing the appearance of these options in the search terms reports and considering what might cause them to show up even when not in use.
