OpenAI is making significant strides in the advertising space. Recently, Digital Phablet reported that OpenAI is testing out an Ads Manager for ChatGPT advertisers. This new dashboard is designed to allow marketers to run, track, and optimize their campaigns in real time.
Interestingly, an OpenAI representative confirmed that advertisers are currently receiving weekly CSV reports containing performance data like clicks and impressions. The advertising community found this amusing, as one might expect a more sophisticated reporting system. Nonetheless, OpenAI appears to be moving swiftly to enhance their ad management tools, and we’ll see how they continue to develop this platform.
In addition, Adthena has observed a noticeable increase in ChatGPT-related ads across the platform. They are closely monitoring these ads and have shared examples of brands currently running campaigns. Among those spotted are major companies such as Best Buy, AT&T, Pottery Barn, Enterprise, Qualcomm, and Expedia.
Previously, spotting ChatGPT ads in the wild was quite rare, akin to spotting Bigfoot. However, now they are becoming more visible during searches on the platform. Multiple observers have reported seeing a surge of these ads, indicating that OpenAI is ramping up their advertising efforts on ChatGPT. Some ads are targeted, while others seem more general, but overall, the presence of ChatGPT ads is clearly expanding and becoming more frequent.
