Google’s broad core update for March 2026 has officially finished rolling out. The company announced this via X this morning, and the Search Status Dashboard has been updated to reflect the completion. The entire process took about 12 days and 4 hours, aligning with typical timelines, which usually span around two weeks. According to the dashboard, the update was fully deployed as of April 8, 2026, at 9:12 AM Eastern Time.
This particular core update felt somewhat unusual. Throughout my tracking and observations shared in my “Core Update Notes,” it didn’t seem as impactful as some previous broad core updates. For example, the December 2025 update was notably extensive, arriving swiftly and causing significant shifts. In contrast, the March 2026 update was more gradual and appeared less potent. While some websites experienced noticeable increases or drops, the overall volatility was relatively restrained.
I monitored the visibility metrics for thousands of sites affected by prior major algorithm changes, and most didn’t show extreme fluctuations. There was movement for some sites, but nothing out of the ordinary across the board.
The official announcement from Google confirms the completion status of the update. The recent dashboard update provides a visual summary of the rollout and its effects. Continued analysis will follow, with insights shared on various platforms, highlighting the impact on search performance and rankings. Stay tuned for more updates.
