A Thanksgiving-themed Google Doodle was recently featured on the homepage of Google Search (google.com), this time a charming and familiar design that celebrates the holiday. However, clicking on the Doodle doesn’t redirect users to traditional search results. Instead, it takes them directly into an AI Mode interface.
In AI Mode, the results don’t display information about the Doodle itself. Instead, users are prompted with a question asking for help in planning a Thanksgiving dinner for ten people. The prompt guides the user to outline a full preparation timeline starting the day before, ensuring everything is ready and hot for an afternoon meal.
The Doodle itself mentions that it was created with the help of a unique collaborator, Tiny Chef—a cute, herbivore chef character who lives in a tree stump and crafts tiny, adorable dishes. The message emphasizes that cooking isn’t about size or perfection but about sharing love and creating something special to enjoy with loved ones.
In terms of user interaction, questions directed to the AI Mode can include a wide array of topics such as Thanksgiving recipes, decor ideas, or leftovers solutions. The AI provides helpful responses with relevant web links, making it easy to explore follow-up questions or new topics.
Interestingly, most visitors interested in the Doodle are unaware that clicking it will launch this AI-driven experience aimed at planning a holiday meal rather than revealing details about the Doodle itself. Instead, they typically seek more information about the artwork or the concept behind it.
