A new patent from Google reveals a system designed to generate personalized landing pages using artificial intelligence. Instead of directing users solely to a company’s homepage, this technology dynamically crafts pages tailored to the individual’s search intent and context. When someone performs a search, the system can produce a customized page that aligns specifically with what they’re looking for, considering factors like whether they’re a new visitor or returning customer, brand loyalty, or price sensitivity.
The process begins with the user entering a query, after which the search engine identifies relevant results associated with various organizations. If the system determines that the existing landing page for a result isn’t optimal—perhaps it doesn’t match the user’s needs or could be improved—an AI component steps in to generate a new, personalized page. This AI-crafted page combines information from the organization’s website with AI-generated summaries or layouts that cater precisely to the searcher’s intent. The search results are then updated to include a link directing users to this newly created, tailored page.
The patent describes a machine-learned model that assesses the quality of existing landing pages using a scoring system. When the score falls below a certain threshold, the system kicks off the creation of a customized AI-generated page and updates the search results accordingly. If implemented broadly, this could mean that Google might serve increasingly personalized, AI-created landing pages in response to search queries, potentially transforming how users interact with search results and how businesses approach their online content.
