Google has announced the release of Nano Banana Pro, an upgraded version of its popular image generation tool. This new iteration is notably powerful and is now integrated into Google Search through AI Mode and also accessible within Google Ads, providing useful functionalities for creating ad visuals and other creative content. Nano Banana has been available in Google Lens since mid-October, but the latest update extends its capabilities with the Pro version and AI Mode access.
In AI Mode for Search, Nano Banana Pro is available exclusively to users subscribed to Google AI Pro and Ultra packages in the United States. The tool is built on Gemini 3 Pro, ensuring high-quality output and advanced features. It can generate detailed images directly in search results, allowing users to create creative assets instantly. Additionally, Nano Banana Pro is capable of producing detailed infographics and explanatory visuals, such as diagrams on ecological concepts or recipes, by leveraging information from Google Search’s extensive knowledge base.
Within Google Ads, Nano Banana Pro enhances ad creative workflows. Google’s Ads team emphasizes that the tool offers smarter creative abilities, including better brand consistency through improved prompt understanding, more granular control over visual elements like lighting and angles, and the capacity to generate high-resolution images showcasing multiple products in a single scene. The interaction process has been simplified with a conversational workflow, allowing advertisers to request specific edits to existing images without needing to rewrite prompts, streamlining testing and idea generation.
Nano Banana Pro also serves as a versatile content creation assistant capable of producing educational explainers—such as infographics and diagrams based on user-provided content or real-world data. It can connect to live data, making it useful for visualizing current weather, sports scores, or quick informational snapshots. Demonstrations show that the model can create detailed infographics illustrating recent Google algorithm updates over the past two years, color-coded and with icons indicating core, review, and spam updates.
Speculation remains about the sources Nano Banana Pro uses for gathering information, with questions about whether it relies on Google-Extended or other proprietary data streams. The tool’s flexibility and sophistication are prompting discussions about the controls on content accuracy and data sourcing.
This new tool marks a significant advancement in AI-powered content creation, offering marketers and content creators a robust resource for high-quality visuals and educational materials, directly integrated into search and advertising platforms.
