Google is experimenting with bolding the site names within search results. While the search engine has highlighted various elements of snippets before, this seems to be a new test focusing specifically on making the site name more prominent through bold text.
Unlike Bing, which bolds site names when hovering over them, Google has not typically used this visual emphasis, making this test noteworthy. The observation was shared by Sachin Patel on X, where he included a screenshot showing the difference between the standard and bolded site names in the search result snippets.
In the normal search results, site names appear in regular text, but in the test version, they are displayed in bold. Although this change doesn’t dramatically alter the appearance, it indicates ongoing experimentation with how information is presented to users. Google frequently tests various adjustments to improve usability and clarity in search snippets.
