Google appears to be transitioning its support system for Google Ads users from a traditional support form to an AI-powered chat assistant, potentially derived from its Ads Advisor platform. When accessing the support page, users are redirected directly into the chat interface. This change seems to be happening across multiple accounts, suggesting it might be a global rollout.
The chat interface introduces itself as an AI agent for Google Ads, designed to offer preliminary assistance after users describe their issues. If additional help is needed, the AI claims it can explore available options for the account. When attempting to submit a support request through the traditional form, the AI instead prompts users to provide more detail about their problem, asking questions like whether they’ve tried reactivating their account.
This switch was observed by Marcin Wsól, who shared his findings on a professional networking platform, noting that Google is replacing the conventional support form with an AI chatbot. An additional point brought up by Arpan Banerjee was that Google uses previous support case data to auto-fill certain information in the support process, streamlining the request. The AI system seems to analyze past interactions to pre-populate support inquiries, potentially saving time for users.
The overall trend indicates Google’s move toward automating customer support interactions, reducing direct human involvement. This shift has raised discussions within online communities, reflecting broader concerns about the increasing reliance on AI for handling support issues.
