About a week ago, searching for [Disney account] on Google resulted in a sitelink titled “Black hat SEO approaches…” appearing alongside the Disney search result. Surprisingly, this sitelink remains live to this day.
Last Sunday, I shared a tweet about it, and the SEO community also discussed it extensively. Despite several days passing, the sitelink still appears in search results. The link points to the Disney login page, and clicking on it redirects users to SignIn for Disney accounts.
Here’s a recent screenshot from this morning:

It’s quite unexpected that Google hasn’t addressed this issue yet, especially since it looks unprofessional and problematic for such a prominent brand. Google has mentioned that login pages sometimes challenge their system, and they have previously explained how to ensure login pages can appear as sitelinks. However, the persistence of this particular sitelink for Disney is puzzling.
SEO experts have analyzed the situation, with some noting that negative SEO tactics may still influence sitelink generation. For example, one observer pointed out that despite no impact on rankings, the sitelink continues to display the phrase “Black hat SEO packages,” which suggests that certain backlinks with spammy anchor text are affecting sitelink content.
Another industry professional highlighted that the system uses specific anchor text when populating sitelinks, which explains why the phrase persists. Meanwhile, community discussions continue about why Google hasn’t yet corrected the sitelink or removed it.
