Google has reportedly updated its support contact form for Google Ads, now including a disclaimer alongside a checkbox that grants permission for a Google Ads specialist, acting on behalf of your company, to make direct changes to your Google Ads account to troubleshoot and reproduce issues.
This update effectively authorizes Google to adjust your ad settings and campaigns as needed for problem resolution. The change was highlighted by Arpan Banerjee, who shared a screenshot of the modified form. The form now states that by selecting the box and submitting it, you:
– Give permission to a Google Ads specialist to make direct modifications to your company’s account.
– Recognize that all changes are undertaken at your own risk and are governed by Google’s advertising terms.
– Acknowledge that Google does not guarantee specific results from these changes.
– Take responsibility for any effects these alterations may have on your campaign performance or spending.
– Are advised to monitor your account regularly to stay informed and be able to adjust campaigns accordingly.
Importantly, if you do not check the box, your support request cannot be submitted to Google Ads.
This new policy raises questions about the risks involved in granting such authorization. Would you feel comfortable allowing Google to make these changes on your behalf?
