Apple is planning a major overhaul of Siri, Apple Intelligence, and its search functionalities set for 2026. Reports indicate that Apple aims to introduce its own AI-driven web search engine, integrated directly into Siri, with collaboration involving Google to develop this new system.
The revamped search technology will be called World Knowledge Answers. It is designed to fetch information from across the internet and deliver concise, AI-generated summaries to enhance speed and accuracy. This feature will be incorporated into Safari, Spotlight, and the default search on iPhones.
The underlying technology for this system is referred to as Linwood and Long Language Model Siri, laying the foundation for the upcoming AI-powered search capabilities. These updates are expected to arrive via a future software update, currently codenamed Luck E, possibly within the iOS 26.4 release scheduled for early next year.
Apple’s partnership with Google involves evaluating and testing a Google-developed AI model to bolster the voice assistant and search experience. The new search interface will support multiple media types, including text, images, videos, and local points of interest.
This development signals a significant shift in how Apple approaches search, blending AI advancements with existing ecosystem features and collaboration with major tech players. For SEOs, this evolving landscape suggests a future where integrated AI search results could influence organic visibility and optimization strategies significantly.
