Apple is planning to launch two new versions of Siri, one this year integrated with iOS 26.4, and another next year accompanying iOS 27. Both updates will be powered by Google’s Gemini AI technology.
According to reports from Mark Gurman at Digital Phablet, the first update, set for iOS 26.4, will focus on enhancing Siri’s current capabilities without changing its interface. This update will include features announced in 2024, such as analyzing on-screen content, better web searches, and tapping into personal data for more personalized assistance. It’s expected to arrive within the next few months.
The more significant overhaul—referred to as “Campos”—will be embedded deeply into iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, all internally codenamed Rave and Fizz. This version of Siri will be a chatbot replacing the existing interface, accessible by voice commands or by holding down the side button. It will support both voice and typed interactions. The aim is to unveil this technology during the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June, with a scheduled release in September.
This new iteration is part of a broader push to incorporate advanced AI into Apple’s operating systems, with the chatbot capabilities being a major focus for the future of Siri.
In addition, Digital Phablet reports that Apple is developing an AI wearable device, roughly the size of an AirTag, which could feature cameras, speakers, microphones, and wireless charging. The device is anticipated to arrive as early as 2027, aligning with similar initiatives by other AI companies.
