Digital Phablet has announced the full rollout of the new AI-powered configuration tool within Google Search Console. The company shared on LinkedIn that “The Search Console’s new AI-powered setup is now accessible to all users! Have you given it a try yet?”
After its initial announcement in early December, many wondered when it would become available. Now, it’s live and ready for exploration.
This experimental feature leverages AI to tailor the Search Performance report based on user input. Instead of manually selecting filters, comparisons, and metrics, users can simply describe their desired analysis in natural language, and the AI will set up the report accordingly.
Google states, “Powered by AI, this tool allows you to specify the analysis you want through plain language. Your instructions are then translated into the appropriate filters and settings, instantly customizing your report.”
Visual examples are provided below:
The goal of this AI configuration feature is to simplify analysis by automating three main actions:
- Applying filters: Narrow data based on queries, pages, countries, devices, search appearances, or date ranges.
- Setting up comparisons: Create complex comparisons like custom date ranges without manual setup.
- Choosing metrics: Select from four options—Clicks, Impressions, Average CTR, and Average Position—to display relevant data based on your query.
Note some current limitations:
- Scope: It functions only within the Performance report for Search results. It does not extend to Discover or News reports.
- Accuracy: The AI might occasionally misinterpret instructions, so it’s important to verify the filters and settings before analyzing.
- Functionality: The tool is designed for configuration purposes (filters, comparisons, metrics). It doesn’t handle actions like sorting data or exporting reports.
