MacBook Pro M2: Review, Price, Release Date and Buy Cheap (Deals!)

Here are all the details about the MacBook Pro M2 available so far!

MacBook Pro M2 seems to be a new entry-level pro-grade MacBook with the rumored Apple M2 chip. That’s pretty huge because just last year Apple amazed the market with the release of the current entry-level MacBook Pro M1.

Summary

So This year seems like a great time to dish out a refreshed entry-level MacBook with the new M2 chip.

4.3

That 13-inch Pro has delivered unprecedented improvements so far in performance and efficiency, performing so well that it actually ended up at the top spot on many lists of the best laptops one could buy. Keeping this in mind, the MacBook Pro M2 may actually replace the current $1,299 13-inch M1 Pro, especially If it incorporates the smart design changes as its predecessors.

Although the recent Peek Performance Apple event went without any mention of a new MacBook Pro or second-generation slice of Apple Silicon, claimed sources say that the MacBook Pro M2 will arrive this year with the M2 chip.

Price

Apple may go a little higher with the starting price of a new MacBook Pro M2 but based on all the speculations so far, it seems likely that MacBook Pro M2 will cost less than $2,000, likely as low as $1,299 to $1,499. This guess is based entirely on the fact that the MacBook Pro M2 is rumored to be a new but entry-level model. Since the current entry-level Pro is the 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1 with starting price of $1299, a replacement should cost pretty much the same.

Design

Apple hasn’t released any significant details about what should be expected from the MacBook Pro M2 in terms of design but the internal design has been the most popular subject of discussion so far. The next Pro is rumored to come with an all-new piece of Apple silicon: the Apple M2 chip.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg claims that the new Pro will not have the mini-LED displays that were part of the 2021 MacBook Pros. ProMotion, which offers a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz, will also not be a feature in Pro M2. Those mini-LED displays are most likely to be scrapped in favor of a cheaper IPS LCD Retina display, as found on MacBook Airs.

Specs

The most exciting thing to come out of rumors so far about the specs of a new MacBook Pro M2 is Mark Gurman’s report that it will contain the Apple M2 chip. Word is that the M2 will sport the same 8-core CPU as the original M1 chip (expect your machine running at higher clock speeds), but with a 10-core GPU instead of the 8-core GPU that was on the Pro M1.

The highly awaited M2 chip need not outperform the M1 Pro and M1 Max and so significantly improve on the already marvelous performance of the 13-inch MacBook Pro M1. If that works out, we may be looking at a possibility where Apple might unveil a new MacBook Pro and a new MacBook Air, both running on the M2 chip, late in November 2022.

We’ll still have to wait and see how the chip in the updated entry-level Pro performs against the M1 Pro and M1 Max with the M1 chips Apple packed into the 2021 Pros.

Outlook

All in all, all details that have surfaced so far give enough room to be optimistic about seeing a MacBook Pro M2 release this year for sure. Apple has already risen up higher and higher since the release of the inaugural MacBooks with the M1 chip.

It will be exciting to gauge the 2021 MacBook Pro with M1 and M1 Max chips against the MacBook Pro M2 with the latest M2 chip. With their beyond ideal performance, what really shall the M2 bring to the table? No one knows yet,
