Worldwide shipments of TCL televisions increased by 5% during the first three quarters of this year, reaching a total of 21.1 million units. This growth was driven by a strong demand in international markets for its large-screen and Mini LED models.
In particular, overseas sales of TVs measuring 75 inches or larger saw a 62% rise compared to the previous year, underscoring the company’s expanding presence in the high-end segment. Mini LED TV shipments globally soared by 153% to 2.2 million units, while shipments of larger TVs (75 inches and above) increased by 28%, contributing to a 9% growth in overall TV revenue during this period.
The company is gaining market share internationally. In Europe, shipments of 75-inch and larger TVs jumped by 138%, with Mini LED TV shipments increasing by 124% in the first three quarters. In North America, the average selling price of TCL TVs rose over 15% year-over-year, with shipments of larger and Mini LED models growing by 34% and nearly five times, respectively.
A research director for the TV industry segment at a technology research firm noted that TV shipments within China declined by nearly 3%, totaling 23.9 million units in the first three quarters. The primary focus remains on overseas markets, especially in Europe and North America, where South Korean and domestic brands hold significant strength.
The global TV market is trending towards larger screen sizes. While the average size worldwide remains below 55 inches, China’s average exceeds 60 inches. There is considerable potential for growth internationally, particularly for premium products like Mini LED and RGB-Mini LED TVs.
