Shares of Seres Group increased after their automotive partner announced a new collaboration with the cloud computing division of TikTok’s parent company to develop embodied technology and expand its use within the automotive industry.
Today, Seres stock rose by 4.8%, closing at CNY167.67 (around USD23.54) per share, even as the overall Shanghai Composite Index dropped 1.1%.
The company’s subsidiary recently signed an agreement with Volcano Engine to incorporate artificial intelligence with embodied intelligence, aiming to advance the integration of robotics in cars. This partnership was disclosed late yesterday by the company’s headquarters in Chongqing.
Together, Seres and Volcano Engine will work on projects involving decision-making, control systems, and human-machine interaction for smart robots. The goal is to coordinate technological development and real-world testing to meet the growing demand for digital and intelligent upgrades in the automotive sector.
Volcano Engine plans to apply its expertise in language processing, visual recognition, multimodal AI, and general AI models to supply the necessary algorithms and computing resources. Meanwhile, Seres will leverage its industrial experience to support the deployment and application of these innovations.
This cross-industry partnership allows both companies to combine their strengths in a bid to create a new ecosystem for AI technology. The collaboration is positioned to enhance the commercialization and scalable deployment of their embodied intelligence solutions.
