The company’s subsidiary recently signed an agreement with Volcano Engine to incorporate artificial intelligence with embodied intelligence, aiming to advance the integration of robotics in cars. This partnership was disclosed late yesterday by the company’s headquarters in Chongqing.

Together, Seres and Volcano Engine will work on projects involving decision-making, control systems, and human-machine interaction for smart robots. The goal is to coordinate technological development and real-world testing to meet the growing demand for digital and intelligent upgrades in the automotive sector.

Volcano Engine plans to apply its expertise in language processing, visual recognition, multimodal AI, and general AI models to supply the necessary algorithms and computing resources. Meanwhile, Seres will leverage its industrial experience to support the deployment and application of these innovations.

This cross-industry partnership allows both companies to combine their strengths in a bid to create a new ecosystem for AI technology. The collaboration is positioned to enhance the commercialization and scalable deployment of their embodied intelligence solutions.

Volcano Engine specializes in cloud computing and AI services, functioning as the enterprise-level technology provider for the parent company. It offers various tools and platforms to other businesses to help accelerate their AI initiatives.

Seres has evolved from a relatively small, lesser-known private firm into one of China’s top electric vehicle manufacturers, particularly after launching Aito, a premium EV brand created in collaboration with Huawei.
