August 6 — One of China’s leading internet companies yet to formalize an artificial intelligence (AI) strategy has significantly increased its hiring efforts for AI experts, aiming to develop innovative e-commerce models.
Over the past month, numerous new AI-related positions have been posted, including roles such as Large Model Infrastructure Architect, Algorithm Engineer, and Multimodal Algorithm Engineer, according to the company’s careers page.
The responsibilities for the Large Model Infrastructure Architects involve designing and building AI models for e-commerce platforms and collaborating closely with algorithm engineers to continually improve their functionalities. Multimodal Algorithm Engineers are tasked with researching and applying multimodal algorithms to cross-border e-commerce contexts, focusing on product recognition, attribute understanding, and AI-generated content creation.
From the recruitment details, it appears the company is assembling teams and creating business strategies around both domestic and international e-commerce, particularly in AI model research and development for niche markets within online shopping.
The company has yet to respond to inquiries about developing specialized AI models for specific segments of the e-commerce industry.
Experts in the field believe AI technology can significantly cut costs, boost operational efficiency, and foster new business innovations in e-commerce.
