Jan. 16 — The leading on-demand delivery service provider in China has joined forces with a local automotive sales company to co-develop an innovative platform. This new platform will enable users to compare various 4S (sales, spare parts, services, and survey) dealerships and their discounts.
The companies plan to have over 30 automotive brands and 10,000 dealerships available on this integrated service platform by the year’s end, according to a statement released yesterday.
Consumers will be able to navigate and compare different 4S dealerships on the platform, similar to how they choose restaurants, shop online, or leave reviews on existing services, explained Jiang Shunyu, CEO of the Shanghai-based partner company.
This initiative aims to systematically advance their automotive sales operations by utilizing their expertise in platform-based food and beverage services. The partner company will enhance these efforts with a focus on cutting-edge automotive tech, said Chen Yudong, the chairperson of the collaborating firm.
The partner company specializes in artificial intelligence, smart operations, and internet integration within the automotive industry. Using big data analytics, it offers personalized vehicle purchasing and servicing experiences for consumers.
As competition intensifies in China’s lifestyle services market, profit margins for the delivery giant have been under pressure despite continuous investments. Expanding into automotive sales is seen as a strategic move to unlock new growth avenues.
The company has been collaborating with a major Chinese automaker on auto services for nearly a year, with hundreds of dealerships participating in its platform. The “online second store” model helps dealerships run digital operations and attract new customers.
