The largest hydrogen refueling station in southern China has recently been completed and is now operational in Guangzhou’s Baiyun district.
This facility, known as the Liangtian hydrogen refueling station, opened its doors to the public yesterday. It boasts a maximum daily refueling capacity of 4,000 kilograms, which is comparable to the combined capacity of four standard medium-sized hydrogen stations.
Equipped with four hydrogen dispensers and eight separate nozzles, each capable of refueling at a rate of up to 3.6 kilograms per minute, the station significantly minimizes wait times for vehicles. A spokesperson from the operating company, specializing in hydrogen energy technology, shared that this setup allows for more efficient and quicker refueling.
The new station aims to alleviate hydrogen supply constraints in the region and serve the refueling needs of large logistics trucks and buses, the spokesperson added.
With a layered approach encompassing production, storage, transportation, and refueling, the station has developed a sophisticated hydrogen supply network. This ensures a steady, reliable, and cost-effective hydrogen supply for various applications.
Guangzhou continues to make substantial investments in the hydrogen sector, offering subsidies to stations meeting specific operational standards as well as to companies involved in developing hydrogen fuel cell systems and manufacturing hydrogen-powered vehicles.
