French nuclear steam supply systems manufacturer has secured multiple contracts from Chinese industry counterparts, including the China National Nuclear Corporation and China General Nuclear Power Group, during the eighth China International Import Expo.
The agreements cover fuel, control system components, and technical services, according to the president of the company’s China division. He did not disclose the financial details of the deals.
This company, which has taken part in all eight China International Import Expos, is a subsidiary of Électricité de France, the world’s largest nuclear power operator. It provides services for over 90% of the world’s nuclear reactors and employs more than 400 people in China.
Previously, the company built Units 1 and 2 for China General Nuclear’s Taishan Nuclear Power Plant. These units, which entered commercial operation in 2018 and 2019, are among the first in China to be constructed based on the European Pressurized Water Reactor design.
The company maintains a strong partnership with China in nuclear fusion technology, a promising future avenue for nuclear energy. This collaboration involves the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor. Additionally, the company has a dedicated cooperation framework for China’s nuclear fusion initiatives.
As China has become the world’s largest nuclear power market and is expected to operate more than 100 units by 2030, the company plans to continue collaborating with Chinese industry leaders based on longstanding relationships and strategic partnerships.
