In 2025, shipments of tablet computers in China increased by 13.1% compared to the previous year, reaching 33.8 million units. This growth was influenced by a device replacement cycle and the national subsidy policy. Despite the signs that the stimulus effects of subsidies are waning, consumer demand remains strong. In the last quarter alone, tablet shipments rose by 7.2% year-over-year, indicating that as some regions tighten subsidy support, its influence on demand is diminishing.
The consumer market continued to drive growth, with yearly shipments increasing by 14.4%, reflecting a clear trend of upgrading devices. Meanwhile, the commercial sector faced challenges, with overall shipments declining by 1.6% due to ongoing budget limitations affecting procurement.
Senior analysts note that while a growing user base supports device upgrades, rising costs introduce uncertainty into the market. They emphasize the importance for manufacturers to accelerate research into artificial intelligence and develop upgrade pathways based on specific scenarios.
