The upcoming largest import and export trade fair in East China, set to take place in Shanghai on March 1, is expected to surpass previous years in terms of booths, exhibitors, and international participation. This four-day event serves as a key indicator of the country’s foreign trade health and boasts 5,291 booths alongside 3,325 companies from both domestic and international origins, including 375 overseas exhibitors representing 14 countries and regions, according to the director of the local commerce department’s foreign trade division.
It’s projected that over 46,000 professional buyers from within China and abroad will attend this significant trade gathering. The fair features specialized zones for clothing and accessories, textile fabrics, household products, and decorative gifts, as well as dedicated spaces for cross-border e-commerce and international exhibitions. The entire event spans approximately 115,000 square meters.
To enhance deal closures, organizers will maintain last year’s strategy by establishing a dedicated procurement matchmaking zone and hosting targeted matchmaking sessions focused on apparel, textiles, household goods, and gifts. These sessions are aimed at connecting buyers from Europe, the Americas, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia with domestic companies. The goal is to foster the import of high-quality foreign products and promote the dual objectives of exporting domestic goods and importing foreign products.
