China’s EngineAI Robotics Technology has introduced the Ultimate Robot Knockout Legend, claimed to be the world’s first commercial humanoid robot freestyle fighting league.
The event took place yesterday in Shenzhen, featuring 16 teams competing with EngineAI’s robots. The champions will receive a gold belt valued at 10 million yuan (approximately $1.44 million), according to the company’s founder and CEO.
The competition focuses on improving key abilities of humanoid robots, such as precise motion control, balance algorithms, decision-making, power systems, and structural durability.
During the launch, one of EngineAI’s T800 humanoid robots showcased its capabilities by sparring with a Thai boxing champion.
The T800 model was first introduced in December, with an initial price of 180,000 yuan (around $26,040). It stands at 1.73 meters tall and weighs 75 kilograms. The company also disclosed that it had received preliminary orders for between 3,000 and 4,000 units.
