The chairman of Guizhou-Cloud Big Data Group, the exclusive provider of Apple’s iCloud services in mainland China, is currently under government investigation for allegedly serious violations of discipline and law, according to local authorities in Guizhou province.
The last public appearance of Xu Hao was at the 2025 China International Big Data Industry Expo last month, where Guizhou-Cloud announced a strategic partnership with cybersecurity company 360 Digital Security Group.
Xu Hao, 57, was appointed as chairman of Guizhou-Cloud in December 2023. He previously held positions as chairman of Guiyang Industrial Investment Group and served as vice mayor of Guiyang.
Founded in February 2018 with registered capital of 1.7 billion yuan (approximately $238.7 million), Guizhou-Cloud is a major state-owned enterprise operating under Guizhou province, focused on developing the National Big Data (Guizhou) Comprehensive Experimental Zone.
The company became the sole operator of Apple’s iCloud services in mainland China beginning February 28, 2018, following a strategic cooperation agreement signed between the Guizhou provincial government and Apple in July 2017.
