A new user interface for the custom instructions menu of ChatGPT is now being rolled out on ChatGPT.com and the Windows app. This update will soon be available on mobile and Mac desktop applications, too.
With the redesigned menu, you can now personalize what ChatGPT calls you and share details about your profession. You also have the option to select various traits for ChatGPT, including being chatty, witty, opinionated, straightforward, or even Gen Z-style. Moreover, you can specify the desired tone of interaction, such as “Use a formal and professional tone.”
Additionally, you can provide extra details that ChatGPT should consider when responding to you.
The new user interface emphasizes, “Introduce yourself to receive more tailored responses.”
Upon accessing the menu, you can also choose which tools to integrate with GPT-4, including Web Search, DALL-E, Code, and Canvas.
Enhancing Your ChatGPT Experience
ChatGPT is constantly introducing new features and customization options to enhance user experience.
Recently, OpenAI began rolling out a feature that enables users to schedule reminders and to-do lists directly through ChatGPT. You can set these reminders as one-time notifications or recurring tasks. This new Tasks feature is currently available to all subscription levels, though you can maintain a maximum of ten active tasks at once.
OpenAI is reportedly working on even more sophisticated functionalities for ChatGPT this year.
In December 2024, OpenAI introduced Sora, a video creation tool that allows you to generate videos from simple chat prompts.
