On November 11, news reports indicated a remarkable surge in the shares of XPeng Motors across both Chinese and American stock markets. The company’s Hong Kong-listed shares climbed by 16.74%, closing at HKD 107.4, while its U.S. ticker saw a 16.15% increase on the previous day, ending at $26.04 — with an additional 1.31% gain in after-hours trading. Over the past week, investor optimism driven by advancements in XPeng’s robotics division propelled its stock up by an impressive 26.41%.

Visual trends reveal the stock’s upward momentum clearly. The stock’s graphical performance in Hong Kong and U.S. markets depicts a strong rally, supported by recent technological developments and strategic announcements.

Central to the recent enthusiasm is XPeng’s unveiling of its latest humanoid robot, IRON, at the company’s 2025 Technology Day held earlier this month. The robot’s design has taken a significant leap, now featuring a female form with musculature modeled through advanced 3D printing lattice materials. Its surface is seamlessly enveloped with integrated materials for a smooth finish. XPeng founder He Xiaopeng expressed confidence in the project, stating the company aims to achieve mass production of this humanoid robot by 2026.

According to official descriptions, the new IRON robot incorporates 82 degrees of freedom, allowing for versatile movement and interaction. It is powered by solid-state batteries and equipped with bionic spine technology. The core computational capacity is bolstered by three Turing AI chips, delivering a combined processing power of up to 2,250 TOPS.

Functionally, IRON is outfitted with an advanced physical world large model that integrates vision, language, and mobility capabilities. This enables the robot to perform complex tasks such as engaging in conversations, walking, and executing multi-modal interactions. To foster a broader developer ecosystem, XPeng announced that IRON will be open-sourced globally, inviting developers worldwide to contribute to its evolution and applications.

This recent push into robotics underscores XPeng’s strategic shift towards integrating AI-driven automation and humanoid robotics, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards technological innovation.
