Microsoft has announced that Bing Image Creator is now integrated with OpenAI’s latest image generation model, GPT-4o, offering users a free way to access advanced image creation features. This update, reported by Neowin, marks a significant step forward in leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance online creativity tools.
Earlier this year, OpenAI merged its image generation capabilities directly into GPT-4o, eliminating the need for separate tools like DALL-E. The newer GPT-4o model demonstrates improved performance in understanding user prompts and accurately translating text into images. Thanks to its extensive knowledge base and sophisticated context comprehension, users can now not only upload photos for modification but also generate entirely new visual content inspired by these images. The images produced tend to be more detailed, although the generation process is somewhat slower compared to DALL-E 3.
Feedback from users indicates that Bing Image Creator will continue to support both the older DALL-E 3 and the newer GPT-4o models, allowing users to choose their preferred engine. The service remains free, with a limit of 15 quick-generation requests each month. For additional images beyond the quota, users can use 10 Microsoft Rewards points per image, but the platform still offers unlimited standard-speed generation.
The updated Bing Image Creator is accessible via several pathways, including bing.com/create, through the Bing mobile app, or directly within the Bing search box and Microsoft Edge address bar by entering prompts. This rollout aims to provide a more powerful and versatile AI-driven image creation experience for users across devices.
