On March 10, 2023, former Huawei prodigy Peng Zhihui, also known as “Zhihui Jun,” unveiled his entrepreneurial project Zhi Yuan Robotics, which introduced its first general-purpose embodied base model: the Genie Operator-1 (GO-1). This innovative model features a Vision-Language-Latent-Action (ViLLA) architecture that combines a multimodal large model (VLM) with a mixture of experts (MoE). This approach facilitates rapid generalization from small data samples, enabling robots to learn from human video input while lowering the barriers for embodied intelligence. The model has successfully been deployed across multiple robotic systems within Zhi Yuan’s lineup.
The GO-1 model leverages diverse data from both humans and various robots, endowing machines with a revolutionary learning capability that allows them to adapt quickly to new tasks and environments. Its versatility means it can be efficiently deployed across different robotic platforms and continues to evolve rapidly through real-world application.
The Genie Operator-1 (GO-1) is built on the AgiBot World, set to launch in late 2024, which boasts a vast collection of over one million trajectories spanning 217 tasks across five core scenarios. While the AgiBot World dataset is already the largest of its kind for robot teaching, the volume of high-quality, labeled data remains limited compared to the immense datasets found on the internet. To address this, Zhi Yuan employs Latent Actions to model the implicit changes between current and historical frames, allowing a Latent Planner to predict these actions and transfer real-world knowledge to general operational tasks.
The launch of the GO-1 model marks a significant step toward the universalization, openness, and intelligence of embodied intelligence. This advanced model is poised to accelerate the widespread adoption of embodied intelligence, transforming robots from task-specific tools into autonomous entities with general intelligence capable of making a substantial impact across sectors such as commerce, industry, and home life.
