At the Summer Davos Forum held in Tianjin on June 26, Haier Group’s Chairman and CEO Zhou Yunjie engaged in discussions with Wang Xingxing, the CEO of Yushutech, during the same session.
During their conversation, Zhou announced that Haier has established a new robotics division focused on both industrial robots and home service robots. These include companion robots and rehabilitation robots. He noted that initial designs may not resemble humanoids, but the future direction will evolve toward more human-like forms.
Zhou also expressed interest in exploring potential collaboration opportunities with Yushutech. In response, Wang shared his enthusiasm for partnering with Haier, emphasizing that Yushutech has been actively pursuing collaborations with large corporations like Haier.
Regarding the current state of robotics and AI integration into practical applications, Wang candidly mentioned that widespread deployment is not imminent. He acknowledged that both fields are experiencing gradual development, which can lead to periods of stagnation between major technological breakthroughs.
Wang highlighted the importance of ensuring foundational capabilities are in place before pushing for market expansion. He pointed out that misalignment in readiness could complicate market entry efforts and potentially result in financial losses.
